Is anyone in the class thinking about gathering up a carpool for Japanfest on Sept. 19th or 20th? I don't have a car, but I would love to pitch in for gas and tag along with someone!
If anyone is interested in driving OR joining in a carpool, please post here so we can all see how much interest there is.
Sarah has kindly offered the use of her home for everyone to get together for a post-JapanFest dinner party, the perfect place to consume strange foods that you found at Assi (or H-Mart)!
If you are interested in going, please contact me by email so that I can send you directions. Please either bring food and/or drinks to share or cash to defray costs.

I'd like to thank everyone who attended the meeting on yesterday! Below are
the meeting minutes.
Also, I'd like to emphasize a few points about the JapanFest carpool for
this weekend:
- If you're coming with us and you haven't notified us via e-mail, Facebook

meetings, please do so RIGHT NOW! It's your last chance!
- If you're willing to drive with us and haven't notified us, please contact
us with the number of people you can bring.
- We're meeting at 10:00 AM, this Saturday in the Ramsey Parking Lot (next
to the ECV bus stop)
- IF we run out of seats, we'll be giving priority to those who've signed up
(either on Facebook or through e-mail)
- Please bring CASH to pay for the $8 JapanFest ticket, food, shopping, and
maybe helping your driver with gas :) There's been a history of
inconsistent credit card acceptance at the event so cash is more reliable.

I'd definitely join in on the potluck but I can't go to Japan Fest on Saturday - is it okay if I bring in some money before Saturday to help pay for food?
No, you can buy tickets at the door (and almost everyone does)!
Those who are willing to drive (unfortunately I will be elsewhere in the morning, and so can't), can you suggest some place on campus that you could meet everyone wanting to carpool? Those that want to carpool, when you see an open car, please reserve a spot so that drivers know how many people are coming!
I originally wasn't planning on going, but AWA is too expensive for me this year, so this seems like a fun alternative. Is it too late to buy tickets? If not, I'd love to hitch a ride with someone and participate in the potluck too. ^.^
Taking part in the potluck afterwards is of course optional, however. =)

That sounds like fun, I would be interested in doing that. Didn't you mention in class that if we go to that supermarket we get more extra credit anyway?
So is anyone else going to JapanFest?
Our assistant みほさん and I were talking about how cool it would be to get a bunch of people to go on Saturday, and then after JapanFest head to Assi (a Korean mega-supermarket that is near where JapanFest will be held) to buy a mountain of Japanese food. If enough people go, and everyone chips in ($8 or so?), then we could buy a bunch of food to bring back to Athens, and have a big potluck dinner. If there's enough interest for this to take place, we will also try to get a bunch of the Japanese exchange students to go as well.
Would anyone be interested in taking part in something like that?
I'm going to AWA that weekend so i could carpool people as well.
I am almost 100% positive that I'm going to Japan fest and I am able to drive so if anyone needs a ride just tell me and I'll be glad to take you.
I might be interested in carpooling as well. I do have a car and would be able to take 3-4 people.
Oh, I forgot to mention times. I believe that Sarah and I were talking about gathering at about 6:30 or so, and try to be done by...when... 9:30ish?
By the way—to avoid potential problems for your teacher, let's make this a non-alcohol gathering, please. This is in no way an official UGA event, but just in case... If you want to drink tomorrow, please form a 二次会（に じ かい）(^^)
