Hello, everyone! My name is Tony Gonzalez, and I am the creator of this site. I teach first year Japanese classes at the University of Georgia, where I am also a Ph.D. student in Learning, Design, and Technology. That's a pretty broad field, but my research focuses on online language learning. When I look back at when I started learning Japanese in the mid 1980s, I'm so excited by all the possibilities that recent developments in technology are bringing to us, and I want to explore those technologies to find the best ways to make learning foreign languages less painful than when I was doing it. I'm especially interested in the development of online communities that support learning, and thus this site!
